La Jolla Cove – Sea Lions
View the Sea Lions at the Cove around this rocky shoreline. Launch spot for scuba, snorkel & swimming. Watch the Heermann’s & Western Gulls, Brown Pelicans and Cormorants soaring above or perched on the sandstone cliffs.
Children’s Pool – Seals
View the Seals at the Children’s Pool and on Casa Beach. Check out the new 4 million dollar lifeguard station. Walk out on the Sea Wall for an even better view. Waves break onto the wall at high tide so watch out.
Marine Street Beach
Hangout with the locals on this wonderful stretch of sand. Super spot for getting your toes in the water most of the year as lifeguards are their most of the year. Scuba drivers also launch from here to explore the Pacific’s treasures.
Another popular area for locals to hangout throughout the day and especially at sunset. Few beaches in the World provide a more of a picturesque view variety than this coastline. Popular area for local surfers as there are big reef break waves.
Cave Store Tunnel
Check-out the steep tunnel with 145 steps to the Sunny Jim Cave at ocean level. It was built in 1902 and 1903 by Chinese laborers. Browse the shop at the entry of the tunnel.
